Loved this so much! I also have two copies of Midnight Chicken, in the end the beautiful illustrations were too much to resist once I saw how beautiful Ella’s second book was. And I don’t think there’s ever such a thing as having a ‘book problem’, things that can bring so much joy and comfort could never be a problem (surely!?) - maybe only to people who just don’t ‘get it’?! But we all have hobbies/interests that some will never ‘get’, book related or otherwise.
Birds of a feather 😍😍😍😍😍 so glad to know I’m not the only one with both versions of Midnight Chicken. I definitely didn’t think I had a problem until I started having to pack up my shelves... 😂😂😂 I think once they’re unpacked again I’ll go back to thinking my personal library is completely normal.
I’ve been taking home the fruit delivery boxes from work every week 😂🤣 if they can transport loads of bananas, they can ensure I don’t overpack and break someone’s back later
What a joy this was to read, Diem. I adore Ella’s books and something tells me I need to find Ruby’s book as this is now the second time I have read about it in a matter of moments. And I really must indulge in a Nigel Slater book. Thank you for sharing. ☺️
Oh I have a few of the ones you’ve mentioned but will add an everlasting meal to my next book buy. Domestic writing is my favourite kind of writing too. I love it in cookbooks & especially in blogs, give me your meal pan or a run down of recipes you’re dreaming of trying & I’m hooked!
Do you have Ella’s A Year Of Miracles? It’s just as beautiful as midnight chicken. What about Breadsong by Kitty Tait? And Ammu by Asma khan is a beautiful read too.
Yeeeeeee a good workaround is to find podcast interviews for the authors? Sorta? I think? My friend has great success requesting cookbooks and food writing at the library – an alternative I need to get in the practice of too!

Haha yes I’d probably have the same thought for a moment if I ever had to move and actually work out how to pack up and transport all my books too!

Always such a joy to hear from you, Amy ❤️ I hope you find some lovely new authors to spend time with, and some books to revisit.
LOVE this! That is all. : )

Reannon! Amazing, thank you so much for sharing. Yes, I have Ella's second book and Breadsong! Will keep my eye our for Ammu
Ohhhh. I'm really trying not to buy more books. You're very persuasive.
I’m the opposite, I’m trying to buy LESS books! With over 400 cookbooks I’m running out of space!
